Over-exercising? Is it real, can it hurt me?
In all of these matters, the best thing to do is to look inside of yourself to find out the answer. Everyone writing on the web is paid to do so one way or another, or at least, is hoping to be, and their opinions (which is all they ever are) are based upon someone other than you.
If you are over 40 and you exercise over 2 hour per day then are you in danger?
Well how do you feel?
Asking around the office we have seen that there are some who do stillo do at least ten hours of hard exercise a week and possibly much more, even at over forty, but they do not seem to be in bad health. If you have always done this much exercise then it may be reasonable to assume your body can cope with it, but it is always best to swap around the parts of your body that you are exercising around regularly so that no individual muscles suffer from over-exercise.
If you are finding that lessening your exercise levels leads to feeling depressed or negative then it is worth considering slower heart-rate exercises for longer periods.
Whatever you decide to do, decide it for yourself and enjoy your exercise, which is the best advice anyone wishing to exercise can follow.
